Womanly Wisdom

What do you love most about being a woman?

Yes, being a woman comes with its own struggles and challenges but don’t compare yourself to men. You should instead make the most of your womanhood.

What are your current realities as a woman? You may experience setbacks but you must not be fixated on those as there are many blessings that can unfold in your life. Focus on where you are. Are you in your 20’s and building up your career or drawing up plans to marry? Are you in your 30’s and working on your professional and family life? Whatever point in life you may find yourself in, you should continue to evolve and grow into the best version of yourself.

Here are some truths about being a woman that you could reflect on:

REALITIES

Your reality may be different at different points of your life. While your roles may remain constant, your heart should mature with and through time. Allow the woman inside you to evolve. Don’t get stuck in a certain mindset, a way of doing things, or in a memory which no longer serves a purpose. While there are many things in the past which you cannot do anything about, your future is full of potential. You can make changes whenever you want to improve your present and future. In order to evolve, you must be conscious of how these experiences shape and allow you to be better.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

What are your top three hats? For me, it’s being a teacher/speaker, mother and wife, and servant of God. There is no such thing as perfect balance in life. The time and energy spent juggling these roles cannot and will never be perfect. Sometimes one of your roles will consume more of your time and attention because of the circumstances and responsibilities you are facing. That’s just how life is. Your reality and roles evolve. As you grow and mature, you will have an improved capacity to choose which things deserve your energy.

REASONING

Men and woman are different in terms of intuition. Women have the special capacity to sense. Likewise, women are relationship-oriented while men are activity-oriented. Such differences should be acknowledged for a better understanding of how we think and act. While women are comfortable juggling multiple tasks, men would prefer working on one thing at a time. While women seek their tribe to talk about feelings, men would rather come together through sports or a common interest and share random stories on the side. Men and women are simply wired differently!

Being a woman is a beautiful thing. We should make it an active part of our routine to appreciate and celebrate ourselves. What do you love and appreciate about your womanly self? Is it your capacity to juggle multiple things, your strength, your organizational skills, your emotions? Whatever it is, embrace it because it makes you wonderfully unique! – WITH PAU DE VERA
